Ex igne splendidor

the municipality of Asiago already home of Dear Regency of 7 Municipalities and the subsequent Consortium, was razed to the ground during the great war. After the war he gave way to its reconstruction. On October 22, 1922 was chosen the project presented by the Venetian architect Vittorio Invernizzi.

The first stone was laid on July 6, 1924 Memorial on which was inscribed the motto of Asiago reconstruction: "Ex igne splendidor". Marble Guild of Vicenza he sculpted the Bell Tower the lion of Saint mark in white marble, already present in the gonfalone donated to the Regency by the Serenissima. On the Western facade were made in mosaic emblems of 7 municipalities.
The Memorial is a statue of the Venetian Loggia Annibale De Lotto entitled ' faith in the greatness of Italy ". In 1927 it settled the clock of the Bell Tower and the bronze Bell with note in c the weight of 1600 kg. and with a mouth diameter of 139 cm.

Interior

The single rooms were equipped with Murano glass chandeliers, mosaics, stucco.
In the Council Chamber, also called Hall of Paintings, wood reliefs are exhibited low 12 paintings representing the 12 months of the year on the plateau, donated by local artist John Forte Tanasio.
You can also admire four panels each of 5 metres by 2 of the Venetian painter Alessandro Pomi representing the Act of dedication of the Esteemed Regency in Venice, pastoral activities, work in the Woods and the apotheosis of victory; the ceiling is coffered wood. In special reliquaries are kept the gonfalon civic, one of the Regency (17th century) and some personal belongings of General Garibaldi Cristiano Lobbia (including the uniform and a telescopic tool theodolite for measuring angles in surveying, of his own invention).
Among the diplomas include the credit Federal Institute preserved for reconstruction of Asiago and Roana and the downtown elevation to the rank of city in 1924.
The Palace of the Podestà of Asiago, the presence of the Prince of Piedmont. It was inaugurated on September 21, 1929.

Outside

Essay by local white and red marble classical architecture, incorporating the cell tower, columns and roof foil, the Palace dominates majestically the historic centre of the capital plateau.
